Born in Amsterdam. September 11.
Nineteen years old, I went to a school for art teachers: the 'Rijksnormaalschool' (next to the Rijksmuseum).
But blood thicker than water drove me to the theatre school to become an actress.
A dynamic career followed. Occasionally I did some drawing and painting.
For my own performances I made posters, masks, props and pieces for the scenery.
In about 2003 I seriously took up the brush again, doing courses, lessons, self-study. It was starting all over again. I learnt a lot doing open sessions life-drawing. Later on I organised these myself and right now colleages come in my atelier drawing together after life-model.
Discovery and development. Wrestling and joyfully playing with form, tone and colour . That's what works for me. Drawing and painting after nature fascinates me, though I like to mess about with paint, left over on the palette.
